Teen Summer Job, Youth Program & Work Permit Watch

Why this is recommended

A city program paying $16 an hour for six weeks that closes in March, a free lifeguard certification with a guaranteed job, a work permit rule that changed, or an employer paying $18 to teens are each a summer of income, and the deadlines pass while families are thinking about spring break.

Track youth employment in the United States. Report only confirmed, source-backed items from the last 7 days: summer youth employment program openings, pay, age ranges and deadlines in the 100 largest cities and statewide programs; work permit, working papers and age certificate rule changes by state; federal and state youth minimum wage, hours, break and hazardous occupation rule changes; lifeguard, camp counselor, parks and pool hiring events and free certification programs with deadlines; teen hiring pushes and pay at Target, Walmart, Kroger, McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Disney and other large employers of teens; youth apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship program openings; free certification and training programs for teens; teen driving, delivery and gig work rule changes; and Department of Labor and state child labor enforcement actions. Prefer city and state workforce agencies, the Department of Labor, employer career pages, parks departments and established local reporting; ignore unverified listings. Put the city, program or employer first in the title with the pay and the deadline. Use high severity for a program deadline within 14 days, a work permit rule change taking effect before summer, or a hiring push of 1,000 or more teen roles. Return no more than 8 findings. Push each as a finding with a title, a two-sentence summary, sections for the program, who qualifies, the pay, how to apply, the deadline, and the source link. If nothing qualifies, push nothing and submit the run receipt.
