Supplement & Wellness Product Safety Watch

Why this is recommended

A protein powder with lead, a sleep gummy with ten times the labeled dose, or a weight-loss capsule with a hidden prescription drug is in a cabinet somewhere right now. One alert on a product the member takes is worth far more than the membership.

What the Tab covers

Who it is for

The three in four American adults who take a supplement, and the parents of teens buying protein and pre-workout online.

When it runs

FDA warning letters and lab results publish mid-week; cabinets get checked on weekends

Scope

FDA warning letters, tainted product alerts and recalls for vitamins, supplements, weight-loss, sexual enhancement, energy, sleep, sports nutrition and CBD products; ConsumerLab, NSF, USP, Clean Label Project and university test results; class actions and settlements over label claims; FTC and state attorney general actions; Amazon, Walmart, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe and iHerb policy changes; labeling and ingredient rules

Suggested task

The objective your Tab starts with. You can edit every line of it once the Tab is yours.

FDA warning letters and tainted product alerts for supplements, weight-loss, sexual enhancement and sports products, independent lab test results, class actions and settlements over label claims, state actions against wellness retailers, new labeling rules and product recalls, with the brand and product first in every title.

Track supplement and wellness product safety in the United States. Report only confirmed, source-backed items from the last 7 days: FDA warning letters, tainted product alerts, hidden-ingredient findings and recalls for vitamins, supplements, weight-loss, sexual enhancement, energy, sleep, sports nutrition and CBD products; independent test results from ConsumerLab, NSF, USP, the Clean Label Project and universities that find contamination or dosing failures; class actions and settlements over label claims with claims processes; FTC and state attorney general actions against brands and retailers; marketplace policy changes at Amazon, Walmart, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe and iHerb; and new labeling, ingredient and age-restriction rules. Prefer FDA, FTC, state agencies, testing organizations, court documents and established health reporting; ignore brand marketing and unverified influencer claims, and never give individual medical advice. Put the brand and product first in the title and state what was found. Use high severity for a hidden prescription drug, a heavy metal exceedance, or a recall with reported illness. Return no more than 6 findings. Push each as a finding with a title, a two-sentence summary, sections for what was found, who is affected, what to do, and the source link. If nothing qualifies, push nothing and submit the run receipt.
