Smart Thermostat & Demand Response Program Watch

Why this is recommended

A $75 enrollment bonus plus $25 a summer, a $100 thermostat rebate, a time-of-use plan that saves $30 a month, or a program that turned the AC up four degrees during a heat wave without the opt-out the member expected are each worth knowing before the first hot week.

Suggested task

The objective your Tab starts with. You can edit every line of it once the Tab is yours.

Utility thermostat rebate and enrollment bonus programs with amounts and deadlines, demand response event rules, payments and opt-out terms, thermostat control incidents and complaints, Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell, Amazon and Emerson feature changes, subscriptions and end-of-support, time-of-use and peak pricing plan changes by utility, whole-home energy monitor and smart panel deals and rules, EV and water heater demand programs and state rules on utility control of home devices, with the utility, program or device first and the amount in the title.

Track smart thermostats and utility demand programs in the United States. Report only confirmed, source-backed items from the last 7 days: thermostat rebate, enrollment bonus and demand response program openings, changes and deadlines at the 100 largest utilities with amounts and terms; demand response event rules, payments, opt-out terms and control incidents or complaints confirmed by the utility or a regulator; feature changes, subscription changes, outages over four hours and end-of-support at Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell Home, Amazon, Emerson Sensi, Mysa and Cielo; time-of-use, peak pricing and critical peak plan changes by utility; deals of 25 percent or more and rule changes for Emporia, Sense, Span and Lumin energy monitors and smart panels; EV charger, water heater and home battery demand programs; and state utility commission rules on utility control of home devices. Prefer utility program pages, state utility commissions, manufacturer announcements and established energy reporting; ignore installer marketing. Put the utility, program or device first in the title with the amount and the deadline. Use high severity for a bonus of $75 or more with an enrollment deadline within 30 days, a control incident, or an end-of-support affecting a widely installed model. Return no more than 6 findings. Push each as a finding with a title, a two-sentence summary, sections for what changed, who qualifies, what to do, the deadline, and the source link. If nothing qualifies, push nothing and submit the run receipt.
