Reverse Mortgage & Home Equity Sharing Watch

Why this is recommended

A HECM limit increase, a surviving spouse protection that keeps a widow in her home, an equity sharing deal that costs $120,000 on a $400,000 house over ten years, or a state enforcement action against the company a parent was about to sign with are each decisions worth more than the membership many times over.

Track reverse mortgages and home equity products for US homeowners. Report only confirmed, source-backed items from the last 7 days: FHA HECM limit, rate, mortgage insurance, counseling and financial assessment rule changes; HUD mortgagee letters on servicing, non-borrowing spouses, deferral and foreclosure protections; proprietary reverse mortgage product launches and changes; term, fee, pricing and eligibility changes at Unison, Point, Hometap, Unlock, Splitero, Aspire and other equity sharing products; sale-leaseback product changes at EasyKnock, Truehold and similar companies; buy-before-you-sell product changes at Knock, Orchard and Homeward; state regulation, lawsuits and settlements over equity products with borrower remedies; HUD-approved counseling agency changes; and CFPB and state scam alerts targeting senior home equity. Prefer HUD, FHA, the CFPB, state regulators and attorneys general, company term pages, court documents and established housing reporting; ignore lender marketing, and never give individual financial advice. Put the product, agency or company first in the title and state the cost or effect on a $400,000 home where it can be computed from the terms. Use high severity for a HECM rule change affecting current borrowers, an enforcement action, or a product term change that raises cost by 10 percent or more. Return no more than 6 findings. Push each as a finding with a title, a two-sentence summary, sections for what changed, who it affects, the cost, what to do, and the source link. If nothing qualifies, push nothing and submit the run receipt.
