Rental Car Fee & Loyalty Watch

Why this is recommended

A $25 a day toll transponder fee avoided, a damage claim pattern known before a scanner flags a scratch, or a loyalty free day before expiration each returns the fee.

What the Tab covers

Who it is for

The 50 million Americans who rent a car each year and the road trippers, business travelers and cruise passengers who rent repeatedly.

When it runs

Rental companies change fee schedules and loyalty terms at the start of quarters, and enforcement actions on hidden fees publish year-round

Scope

Hertz, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, National, Alamo, Sixt, Thrifty, Dollar and Turo fee and loyalty pages; FTC and state attorney general actions; airport concession fee changes; credit card benefit guides from Chase, Amex, Capital One and Citi; state peer-to-peer rental laws

Suggested task

The objective your Tab starts with. You can edit every line of it once the Tab is yours.

Rental car fee changes for tolls, fuel, young drivers, additional drivers and airport surcharges, loyalty program status and free day changes, damage claim and AI scanner dispute patterns, FTC and state actions on hidden fees, EV rental policy and charging fee changes, peer-to-peer rental rule changes, credit card rental insurance coverage changes, and fleet and availability shortages by market, with the company and the fee first.

Track car rental for US travelers. Report only confirmed, source-backed items from the last 7 days: fee changes for tolls, fuel, young and additional drivers, one-way, airport concession and late return at Hertz, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, National, Alamo, Sixt, Thrifty and Dollar; loyalty program status, points, free day and expiration changes; documented damage claim and AI scanner dispute patterns from regulators or established reporting; FTC and state attorney general actions on hidden fees and damage claims; EV rental charging fee and return policy changes; Turo and peer-to-peer rental law and fee changes; and credit card primary rental insurance coverage changes at Chase, Amex, Capital One and Citi. Prefer company terms pages, regulator releases, card benefit guides and established travel reporting; ignore coupon sites. Put the company and the fee first in the title. Use high severity for a fee increase over $10 a day, an enforcement action, or a loyalty devaluation. Return no more than 6 findings. Push each as a finding with a title, a two-sentence summary, sections for what changed, who it affects, the date, how to avoid the fee, and the source link. If nothing qualifies, push nothing and submit the run receipt.
