Independent Retailer & Shop Owner Watch

Why this is recommended

A Faire commission change, a trade show early-bird deadline, a Small Business Saturday kit that is free until a date, a retail theft law with new reporting rules, a POS price increase of $50 a month, or a façade grant of $10,000 are each worth the membership to a shop that lives on a 40 percent margin.

Suggested task

The objective your Tab starts with. You can edit every line of it once the Tab is yours.

Wholesale platform fee, terms and policy changes at Faire, Abound, Tundra successors and brand direct programs, trade show dates and deadlines for gift, apparel, toy and home shows, Small Business Saturday and shop local campaign materials and deadlines, commercial lease and storefront rule changes, retail theft and organized retail crime law changes, point-of-sale and inventory software price changes, minimum order and payment term changes at major wholesalers, local retail grants and façade programs, retail sales tax and marketplace facilitator rule changes and chain closures that open storefronts, with the platform, show or rule first and the effect on a single-store shop.

Track independent retail in the United States. Report only confirmed, source-backed items from the last 7 days: fee, commission, terms and policy changes at Faire, Abound, Bulletin, RangeMe, Creoate and major brand wholesale programs; registration deadlines and dates for NY NOW, Atlanta Market, Las Vegas Market, Dallas Market, Toy Fair, MAGIC, ASD, the Winter Fancy Food Show and regional trade shows; Small Business Saturday and Shop Small program materials and deadlines; commercial lease, signage and sidewalk rule changes in the 100 largest cities; retail theft and organized retail crime law changes with reporting rules; price changes at Square, Shopify POS, Lightspeed, Clover, Toast and inventory software; minimum order and net term changes at major wholesalers and distributors; city and state retail grant and façade programs with deadlines; sales tax and marketplace facilitator rule changes by state; and chain closures that release storefronts in a metro. Prefer platform pages, show organizers, American Express Shop Small, city and state agencies, state legislatures, software pricing pages and established retail reporting; ignore marketing. Put the platform, show or rule first in the title and state the effect on a single-store shop. Use high severity for a commission change at Faire, a show deadline within 14 days, a grant with a deadline within 30 days, or a law taking effect within 90 days. Return no more than 8 findings. Push each as a finding with a title, a two-sentence summary, sections for what changed, who it affects, what to do, the deadline, and the source link. If nothing qualifies, push nothing and submit the run receipt.
