EPA refrigerant phase-down rules and deadlines for R-410A and the new A2L refrigerants, refrigerant price moves and shortages, new equipment price increases and availability by manufacturer, repair-versus-replace cost benchmarks, contractor certification and A2L handling rules, heat pump and AC rebate and tax credit changes, efficiency standard changes by region, manufacturer recalls and warranty changes, contractor fraud and upsell alerts and emergency repair pricing rules, with the rule, manufacturer or program first and the effect on a typical repair or replacement.
A refrigerant recharge that went from $300 to $900, a new system price increase of 15 percent announced for a date, a $2,000 federal credit and a $1,500 utility rebate that stack, or a contractor telling the member their system is illegal when it is not are each worth thousands, and the rules are written for contractors.

Track home heating and cooling costs and rules in the United States. Report only confirmed, source-backed items from the last 7 days: EPA refrigerant phase-down rules, R-410A and R-22 restrictions, A2L transition deadlines and equipment sales rules with dates; refrigerant price moves of 15 percent or more and shortages; equipment price increases and availability changes at Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Daikin, Goodman, Rheem, York, Mitsubishi, Bosch and Fujitsu; published repair and replacement cost benchmarks; EPA 608 and A2L contractor certification and handling rules; federal 25C and 25D credit and utility and state rebate changes for heat pumps and AC; DOE regional efficiency standard changes; recalls and warranty changes; and contractor fraud, upsell and emergency pricing enforcement actions. Prefer the EPA, DOE, manufacturer notices, distributor price bulletins, utility rebate pages, state attorneys general and established home reporting; ignore contractor marketing. Put the rule, manufacturer or program first in the title with the number and the effect on a typical repair or replacement. Use high severity for a phase-down deadline within 90 days, a price increase of 10 percent or more at a top-5 manufacturer, a rebate of $1,000 or more, or a fraud alert. Return no more than 6 findings. Push each as a finding with a title, a two-sentence summary, sections for what changed, who it affects, the cost effect, what to do, and the source link. If nothing qualifies, push nothing and submit the run receipt.
