Appliance Energy Standard & Efficiency Rule Watch

Why this is recommended

A water heater standard that ends the $600 model the member planned to buy, a sell-through deadline that makes the old model a clearance deal, an Energy Star delisting that kills a rebate, or a state rule that bans a product the member can still order online are each worth hundreds on one purchase, and the dates are in the Federal Register.

Suggested task

The objective your Tab starts with. You can edit every line of it once the Tab is yours.

DOE efficiency standard changes and compliance dates for water heaters, furnaces, dishwashers, washers, dryers, refrigerators, ceiling fans, light bulbs and room ACs, product bans and sell-through deadlines, court challenges and rollbacks, Energy Star program changes, specification updates and delistings, state appliance standards beyond federal rules, buy-before-the-deadline price effects, manufacturer discontinuations and new model availability, utility rebates tied to the standards and label and testing rule changes, with the product, agency or rule first and the effect on what a household can buy and what it costs.

Track appliance efficiency standards in the United States. Report only confirmed, source-backed items from the last 7 days: DOE efficiency standard changes, compliance and sell-through dates for water heaters, furnaces, boilers, dishwashers, clothes washers and dryers, refrigerators and freezers, ceiling fans, lighting, room and central AC, pool pumps, cooking products and dehumidifiers; court challenges, stays and rollbacks with effect on what can be sold; Energy Star specification updates, delistings and program status changes; state appliance standards and bans beyond federal rules with dates; manufacturer discontinuations and new model availability tied to standards; utility and state rebates tied to the standards; and FTC EnergyGuide label and DOE testing rule changes. Prefer the Federal Register, DOE, EPA Energy Star, state energy agencies, court documents, manufacturer notices and established home and energy reporting; ignore political commentary and retailer marketing. Put the product, agency or rule first in the title with the date and the effect on what a household can buy and what it costs. Use high severity for a compliance or sell-through deadline within 180 days for a product most households own, a rollback that changes availability, or a delisting that ends a rebate. Return no more than 6 findings. Push each as a finding with a title, a two-sentence summary, sections for what changed, who it affects, what to do, the date, and the source link. If nothing qualifies, push nothing and submit the run receipt.
