De’Zhaun Stribling ruled out after ankle surgery; 49ers list two others questionable
The 49ers released their Week 2 injury report naming rookie WR De’Zhaun Stribling OUT after ankle surgery and listing RB Kaelon Black (groin) and K Eddy Piñeiro (illness) as questionable for Sunday’s home opener vs. Miami. The team said Stribling will miss about 10 weeks but they expect him back this season.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed Piñeiro missed multiple practices with an illness and the 49ers plan to sign another kicker to the practice squad before Sunday if needed. Shanahan called Black’s outlook only “a questionable amount of optimism” when asked whether the rookie running back would play.
