The rock band Muse has lost its @Muse handles on X and Instagram to Meta's new AI assistant; both accounts now read @Musetheband. The switch happened earlier this summer, before Muse's Sept 8 launch. NME first reported the change on Sept 9; neither Meta nor the band has commented. Searches for both 'Muse' names spiked this week as the irony — a band that spent decades writing about machines taking over losing its name to one — circulated widely.
