The order expands Amazon’s Arianespace commitment, adding six Ariane 6 missions.
Arianespace had already flown three missions placing about 100 Amazon Leo satellites into orbit.
As of the latest updates, Amazon Leo has roughly 400 satellites in orbit.
Reported enterprise or anchor customers include Delta Air Lines, JetBlue (in-flight service), Vodafone (European and African markets), and Australia’s NBN and Kazakhtelecom for enterprise services.
Amazon said these contracts support initial service plans, with Delta in-flight Wi‑Fi slated to begin in 2028.
Amazon Leo’s ~400 satellites contrast with rivals’ much larger fleets, leaving consumer coverage limited until cadence increases.
Amazon continues to spend heavily on capex for satellite and other infrastructure; the program is described as optionality on top of AWS growth.
Analysts note enterprise deals help carve a defensible niche even if consumer scale lags competitors.
